Mom's To Do List

The never ending to do list….do you have one? I would venture to guess if you are a mom, you do.

As we approach Mother’s Day, I want to remind you…and mostly myself…that delegation is allowed. Take that list you have either swirling around in your mind or actually written in a notebook somewhere and start handing out tasks.

  • Sure they won’t be done exactly the way you want them done.

  • No, it may take longer to get them done.

  • Yes, you will probably need some gentle reminders that you even asked for them to be done.

But do it. JUST DO IT! Especially if you have a house of teenagers who make plans for you and the family without first making sure there are open spots and energy to accomplish such event planning.

The energy you will get back by allowing yourself to sit down, have a cup of your favorite beverage and not ruminate over that said list will be so refreshing. Over the years I have done this exact thing. As we started homeschooling, I made sure that life skills were part of the daily teaching. Folding clothes, cooking food, cleaning the house have been part of it. Now, don’t look in anyone one of my kid’s dressers to see how that works but know they know how to do all those things.

Delegating responsibilities in your life can truly keep you from falling down the hole of Depleted Mother’s Syndrome. Yeah, that’s a real thing. For me I notice the irritability and fatigue first. Maybe you have notice others things first. One thing that sticks out most is the phrase, “Moms can never get sick.” Yet we are more prone to catching the latest junk that is going around but push through it. We know it doesn’t work but we do it anyway. Ugh…WHY?! Guilt. That’s why!

We need to drop the guilt too. That’s a whole other series of blogs I could do.

But let’s talk about solutions for the energy and combatting some crazy syndrome other than throwing your hands up, hoping someone catches the list and actually does items on it. A girl can dream right?!

The combo I am currently loving is the Adaptiv capsules from doTERRA and a little drink called Rise from Frequense.

Adaptiv

Adaptiv. Straight from the doTERRA website..”Adaptiv Calming Blend Capsules can help reduce feelings of stress and restore mental and physical resiliency.* Adaptiv Capsules combine the soothing benefits of CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade® essential oils with clinically studied botanicals. This supportive, relaxing formula helps empower and encourage when adapting to stressful situations or acclimating to new surroundings.* Adaptiv Capsules are among the best natural tools available to manage effects from everyday tension, uneasiness, and worry.*

I have been using 1 a day for a few years. It truly makes a huge difference in how my body responds to stressors. And being a mom, there are plenty of those. When I first started taking it, my friends said they visibly say my body relax. It's a truly amazing product.

Rise

The drink is something new I started this year. From the Frequense website…”Rise is a potent nootropic blend supporting cognitive function, mental clarity, and brain health. With seven organic mushrooms, B vitamins, and 100mg of caffeine from organic green coffee bean extract, it’s your daily ally. Enjoy the refreshing mango lemonade flavor, infused with harmonic frequencies, to boost concentration, creativity, and mood.”

I love that fact that is has the caffeine in there. I have reduced my coffee and the extra creamers and replaced it with one Rise scoop a day. It tastes really good in my opinion but I feel good. That’s way more important to me. When you feel like your light is dimming because of lack of energy it's tough to be a light for others. You need the energy and frequencies in Rise.

As I have tried other mushroom drinks, more of the coffee flavor, I found they were chalky and didn’t really hit the mark of my morning coffee. Rise is more of a mango lemonade flavor and I think easy to drink any time of day.

I have already talked in this blog about sleeping and the importance of self care. Moms…you need to give yourself some grace. You are doing a great job of taking care of the tiny humans. Make sure to take care of you too.

And delegate….just the reminder again. You are NOT cooking Mother's Day!!
